The Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) is offering research fellowships for outstanding scientists from around the world. Candidates from all areas of Internet research can apply with independent, transdisciplinary projects that demonstrate promising starting points for the research agenda of the HIIG. Selected fellows are very welcome to collaborate in a growing international team and to participate in the research activities at institute. Fellowships are offered for 3 up to 12 months starting from June 1st, 2014. Application should be submitted till March 17, 2014.

Scholarship Description: The Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) offers outstanding scientists from around the world the opportunity, as Fellows 2014-2015 for 3 to 12 months are eligible for the specialized exchange to the Institute in Berlin. Candidates from all areas of Internet research can apply with independent, transdisciplinary projects that demonstrate promising starting points for the research agenda of the HIIG.

Duration of award(s): These research fellowships are offered for 3 up to 12 months starting from June 1st, 2014.
What does it cover? Based in the heart of Berlin we will provide you with modern office space that you will share with our researchers. Fellows are expected to bring their own funding through their home institution or outside grants. Fellows must take care of their accommodation, insurance, childcare, and transportation arrangements. However, in specific cases we can provide fellows on request with a travel allowance of up to € 700,- and a visa subsidy of up to € 200.
Selection Criteria: HIIG always welcome all project ideas and unusual approaches that highlight the points of their research and their projects and they can look after properly. The achievements to date of the applicants are interested in as well as their capabilities and of which they are intended path. Of course, in the decision-making process also plays with the effort into it, to bring together a balanced group that can enrich each other intellectually. For a promising application letter, they ask you to think through the following points and to develop a compelling argument:

Notification: The interview and subsequent decisions are normally made within one to two months after the announcement.
