Hunger is a state that demands fulfilling what is is missing. The common hunger we know is hunger for food. But it cannot be limited into that only, it can extend to success in academia, success in leadership, success in business etc. These are psychological hungers. Now this is place where Steve Jobs makes sense. When you are hungry for something and you do literally nothing to quench the hunger, then you are foolish!
