Somebody said the number one rule for success is to break rules (I am not talking about morality). It is society that creates rules and we need to break them if we will ever make a change. For example if you live in a society that does not engage in academic publishing, then break the rule and publish. Or if the entire society is publishing around the same area, then break the rule by publishing something different. And examples goes on and on! You've got to silence the voice that says "you cannot paint." Then by all means (acceptable), go out and paint!
