The 'Ujamaa [socialism]thing," could be what is killing most Tanzanians and Africans not to pursue further education. We have been made crippled by the idea that the state will pay for my education, or some certain sponsor has a duty of that. The truth of the matter is that we must come to a point of seeing that education as a form of investment, not only of our minds and time, but all of our resources. Whether somebody is going to fund or not, we must resolve to move on. Because if we will not invest in education, the cost for ignorance will take its tolls as well. In recent times, I came into understanding that some journals will not only need your article, but also your money! The money sometimes is higher than the hard copy journal! But since the above maxim makes sense, I paid the money! All the best in your educational pursuits!
